Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"A personal hotpot experience. Choose your favourite food, have it weighed, select your broth, mix your own sauce. Tried the tom yum goong and garlic (in photo) broths. Preferred the garlic as I found it more flavorful and balanced"
"Brutally good! The ingredients are fresh and high quality, the temperature of the broth: boiling! As it has to be! Delicious!!"
"Reasonable price and variety choices. The bubble tea is good too. Very authentic and tasty Malatang restaurant. Highly recommended!"
"The staff were very friendly, the place was nice and the tables were quickly cleared and made clean when the customers left. There was a big choice of food and it all looked really fresh. I went for the original broth made from beef bones. It was delicious! As if that wasn't enough, they offered a wide range of different toppings, including chilli sauces, oils and seeds, and much more, and all of these were free! This is definitely a big bonus! I had a warm matcha milk as a drink. I tried not to add many ingredients to my soup, but I still had a hard time finishing my plate. I would suggest coming here with a big hunger beforehand, as the food is quite big. I would definitely go back and recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat a nice ramen soup made to their liking."
"The restaurant is quite spacious with a lot of seating. There are many options. There are various meats, fish, vegetables, mushrooms, and the noodles also come in different kinds. There are 3 levels of spiciness to choose from. And what I like the most is they sell unique flavors of iced tea. I chose the pink-colored tea. They also have a selection of extra sauces that are free. They are closed on Mondays."
"Jin Haus Malatang in Mannheim is a great choice if you want something warm, flavorful, and fully customizable. The build your own bowl concept works really well because you choose the ingredients you actually like, then the price stays fair since it is based on weight. That control is also why the food feels consistently satisfying. You can make it light with vegetables and tofu, or go all in with noodles, dumplings, mushrooms, and a richer broth. What makes it stand out is the freshness and the broth. Many guests mention that the ingredients taste crisp and the soup is deeply comforting rather than bland. It also feels welcoming for different preferences, including options that suit people looking for halal friendly choices. The only thing to keep in mind is timing. At peak hours it can get busy because everyone takes time choosing ingredients, so the line can move slower. If you go a bit earlier or later, the experience feels smoother and more relaxed."
"This Malatang restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable right away. The selection of fresh ingredients is impressive — everything from crisp vegetables and high-quality meats to a wide variety of noodles, tofu, and seafood. What truly sets this place apart is the broth. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. You can fully customize your bowl, which makes the experience both fun and personal. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always happy to explain how the ordering process works if it’s your first time trying Malatang. The restaurant is also very clean and well-organized, which adds to the overall positive experience. If you love bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and a customizable dining experience, this Malatang spot is a must-visit. I will definitely be coming back again and again!"
"Delicious and authenthic malatang Had a lot of choices! I hope the quality remains the same over time! If you eat as much as me (i eat crazy, 1.3 kgs uncooked) 20-30 euros and for normal people 10-20"
